Krishico Herbolic Laboratories (a sister concern of Arable Agri Science Pvt. Ltd.) is India's pioneering Ayurvedic agricultural innovation company. Established in 2002 by farmer-scientist Sh. Ishwar Singh Kundu, we exist for one single purpose โ to give Indian farmers a real, working alternative to the toxic chemical inputs that have been slowly poisoning our soil, our food, and our health for the past five decades.
Our entire product range is built on the principles of classical Ayurveda. Every formula uses selected herbs, plant extracts, oils, and natural compounds โ not synthetic chemicals. We call this philosophy: "Ayurveda For Agriculture."

Born on 17 March 1961 in Kailram village, Kaithal, Haryana. A farmer's household, a modest life, and two and a half acres of land โ this was the entire world Ishwar Singh Kundu started with.
A drum of the highly toxic insecticide Phorate leaked in his shop overnight. Opening it the next morning nearly cost him his life โ he collapsed unconscious and doctors gave him slim chances of survival. His nervous system and lungs were badly damaged. This near-death experience sparked a lifelong mission to eliminate toxic chemicals from farming.
Without any formal agricultural education, he began experimenting with neem, dhatura, aak, and other locally available herbs. Five years of relentless research in fields and forests led to a breakthrough formula that farmers in nearby villages called โ "Kamaal Hai" (Wonderful!) โ which became the name of his product line.
The National Innovation Foundation (NIF-DST) recognized his work and invited him to meet President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. His products were tested in the gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan โ and purchased after successful results. Dr. Kalam personally instructed his special officer Dr. Brahm Singh to provide all possible support.
Represented India at the ASEAN-India Innovators Competition in Jakarta among 55 participants from 11 countries. Secured 2nd place internationally, winning a trophy, certificate, and $1,000 prize.
Selected as one of only 10 innovators for President Ram Nath Kovind's exclusive In-Residence Program for Innovators. Stayed as a special guest at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 18โ19 March 2019 and had a face-to-face conversation with the President of India.

Three decades of farming, failing, innovating, fighting, and finally winning โ Ishwar Singh Kundu shares the truth about Indian agriculture and why Krishico exists.
I did not set out to create a product. I set out to survive. After the insecticide incident in my shop nearly killed me, I knew I could never go back to working with those chemicals. But I had a family, two and a half acres of land, and absolutely no money to experiment with. What I did have was curiosity โ and the jungle around me.
I started with neem โ which I had seen insects avoid my entire childhood. Then I moved to dhatura, aak, and plants that neither animals nor insects touched. I studied an old herb book I found behind the Red Fort in Delhi. Something clicked: whatever is beneficial for the human body in Ayurveda must also benefit the crops that grow in the same soil that feeds us.
Five years of experiments. My neighbors called me mad. They said I would kill my family. But in 2002, I had my answer โ a thick powder formula that, when applied to soil, visibly changed it within days. Roots grew deeper. Earthworms came back. The hard pan broke. Farmers who tried it gave it a name I never expected: "Kamaal!" โ meaning Wonderful.
The Green Revolution saved India from starvation. I do not deny that. But it came at a cost that we are only now beginning to understand. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides increased yield in the short term โ but they destroyed the very foundation on which that yield depends: healthy, living soil.
India's nutrient response ratio fell from 14.06 in 1990 to 8.59 in 2010. What does that mean? It means we are putting in more chemicals and getting less food. The soil is exhausted. The earthworms are gone. The organic carbon is nearly zero. We have been borrowing from our land for 60 years without paying anything back.
My technology does not ask farmers to stop farming the way they know. That is not practical, and it is not fair. A farmer with 5 acres on rent cannot afford to experiment. Instead, I say: keep everything you are doing, but add this one herbal treatment. Over 2โ3 seasons, you will find yourself needing less chemical fertilizer โ because the soil has started working again.
When people talk about innovation, they talk about patents and awards. I think about something simpler โ is this useful to the people who need it most? In twenty-two years of working with farmers, I have watched this technology change lives in ways I never imagined when I started experimenting in my field with a borrowed book on herbs.
